For Parents
When your childâs scores donât match their ability
If youâre here, you probably have a highâachieving student who:
- Does well in challenging classes, but their SAT/ACT scores are lower than they should be, or
- Struggles on tests in precalculus, calculus, chemistry, or physics despite âgetting itâ in homework, or
- Walks out of big exams feeling okay, then gets a score that doesnât reflect the work they put in.
You can see theyâre capable of more. Youâre just not sure how to help without adding more stress, tension, or lateânight battles over studying.
My job is to come alongside both you and your student and fix that execution gap.
How I help highâachieving students
I work with a small number of motivated students in two main areas:
1. SAT / ACT performance
- Choosing the right test (SAT vs ACT)
- Building a plan around fullâlength, timed practice exams
- Reviewing every missed question so your student understands why it went wrong
- Developing coping strategies for test anxiety and testâday nerves
Coaching is available 1:1 and in small groups, using the same underlying system.
2. Advanced math & science classes
- Turning vague âI studied a lotâ into clear, weekly study plans
- Using textbook review questions and practice tests as real exam practice
- Teaching repeatable approaches for multiâstep, highâstakes questions
The same principles apply: clear systems, full practice, deep review, and consistent weekly work.
What families notice
Parents usually see three big shifts:
-
Scores and grades improve
SAT/ACT scores move closer to what their GPA suggests, and test grades in hard classes stop feeling like a roll of the dice. -
Confidence and control return
Students stop saying âIâm just bad at testsâ and start seeing how their effort and systems change results. -
Less stress at home
You have a partner in the process. Youâre no longer the only one trying to hold the plan together.
âKevin tutored our twins in Algebra 2 and PSAT. They not only improved both their grades and scores, they became better overall students and test takers. The âtoolboxâ he gave them equipped them to get Aâs in geometry the next year.â

Why families choose to work with me
Parents tell me they value that:
- I stay calm and steady when scores dip, instead of hitting the panic button.
- I use full tests and deep review so students learn how theyâre thinking, not just which answers are wrong.
- I treat their child as a whole person â coaching on mindset, habits, and execution, not just content.
- I communicate clearly, so they always know what weâre working on and whatâs next.
âKevin is a tutor and a mentor. He cares deeply about his students and coaches them on more than just content. Itâs not an exaggeration to say he reduced my stress and kept my sonâs college hopes alive.â

How to see if weâre a fit
If your studentâs situation sounds like what youâve read here, the next step is a short application and a 20âminute fit call.
On that call, weâll:
- Review your studentâs current situation and goals
- Decide whether SAT, ACT, or advancedâclass coaching makes the most sense
- Talk through what kind of plan and commitment would be required
- Decide together whether it makes sense to move forward
